May 2, 2018 Last updated: October 7, 2019 10:41 pm By Amanda Reynolds

The Tap Pack

Following on from Australia's hit tap dancing film and stage show Tap Dogs is The Tap Pack. Inspired by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. The Tap Pack mixes timeless style with innovative, energetic tap dancing. This show is a real pick 'n' mix with dance sections, singing and comedy. It's definitely an entertaining night out and has moments of sheer brilliance. The dynamic dancing is excellent at all times and demonstrates real flair and talent. Whilst it may not have the wow … [Read more...]

Teddy tells the story of two young adolescents, Teddy and Josie, who are about to hit the streets of London for a good time. Featuring electrifying original songs influenced by hits from the 1950s performed by the onstage live band Johnny Valentine and the Broken Hearts' this fresh show mixes an original musical with the energy of a live gig. Teddy is the story of rebellious youth and the birth of a new musical era. The unique style of story-telling in this show really makes it … [Read more...]

Review of CARMEN 1808 at Union Theatre London

Carmen - Scott Rylander

Fresh, pacy and exciting. This new musical adaptation of Bizet’s opera Carmen by Phil Willmott is inspired by the fight for the Catalan independence and the true events of the 3rd May 1808. In this production, the audience are taken back to 1808 and follow the story of Carmen, a Gypsy freedom-fighter, who is adept at seducing low-ranking enemy soldiers to learn military secrets during Napoleon’s invasion of Spain and relay them to the student resistance. Although, she takes great … [Read more...]

For this immersive piece of theatre the audience are welcomed into a smoky vault to the sound of a bellowing air raid siren. With the scene quickly being set, the audience are transported to the Second World War. The Waterloo Vaults are a fantastic location for this 1940s inspired story focusing on a real-life wartime scandal following Bette and Vera who have been employed to travel the country hosting tea dances to boost morale. However, the women’s real purpose is to send the young men off to … [Read more...]
