Review of Cinderella at Trafalgar Studios

December 17, 2019 Last updated: April 9, 2021 10:58 pm By Bonnie Britain

Cinderella - Veronica Green, Baga Chipz & Ophelia Love - credit Corinne Cumming.

Cinderella, the West End's first fully drag panto is a perfect combo of being in your face hilarious and a total hot mess. The cast give it their all between scripted and improvised classic panto moments - there is no holding back on this stage. There is a suitably trashy cardboard set which sets the tone & the Drag Queens make the panto interactive in many ways, not just by working their way in and out of the the audience. This adult panto has everything you want. From sing-a-longs, … [Read more...]

& Juliet launch at Jack Solomons London W1

April 30, 2019 Last updated: June 30, 2022 10:28 pm By Bonnie Britain

Yesterday I was invited to a little taste of the new musical & Juliet. The launch event was held at Jack Solomons and was buzzing with excitement and interest. Not many details had previously been known about the production and the big draw so far seems to be the music with all the hit songs featured being from Max Martin. The official website says about this new exciting show: '& Juliet is the irreverent and fun-loving new West End musical that asks: what if Juliet’s famous ending … [Read more...]

Based on George A. Romero's unparalleled 1968 film, one of the most iconic and influential releases of all time, Night of the Living Dead™ Live! comes to London for the first time ever! A bunch of strangers are holed up in a farmhouse in rural Pennsylvania. Hoards of the undead are approaching. Who will make it out alive? Night of the Living Dead™ Live! skirts the line between the horrific and the hysterical. It's the only production officially authorised by the Romero … [Read more...]

Waitress The Musical in London’s West End | Adelphi Theatre

Katharine McPhee as Jenna in Waitress

The time has come, Waitress, the Broadway Musical has arrived in London. After attending a launch a few months back with composer Sara Bareilles, It was lovely to see her back in London to help get the show off the ground - especially as she has just finished another stint playing the lead character Jenna on the Broadway production of Waitress only days ago. At the Press launch I attend, the cast performed 3 numbers from the musical: 'Bad Idea' - Dr. Pomatter (David Hunter) and Jenna … [Read more...]

The launch for MT Fest took place in the studio theatre at The Other Palace, kicking off with beautiful performances from Luke Bayer and Evelyn Hoskins singing a song each as a little preview to what they will be doing in their Night Caps Concerts. Producer Paul Taylor-Mills took to the stage discussing the various strands of the festival. Including the Night Caps Concerts, which will be tailored to the performer and their career. Paul even said we may get a hint as to what's next for them as … [Read more...]

Nativity! The Musical at the Eventim Apollo | Review

Nativity The Musical

The Who's Who of 'Eastenders' and 'Love Island' were out in force to support their friends and colleagues Danny and Dani Dyer who are making guest appearances along with Jo Brand this festive period at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo in the wonderful Nativity by Debbie Issit. I saw the production last year and it has enough of its own sparkle without the guest appearances, so apart for the crowd-pleasing "names", for me, I am not convinced that it added too much to the production. Although the … [Read more...]
