I was quite excited to attend this festive sold-out production. Going into Fairytale of New York, I had little idea about what I would be watching. Lowkey Dying at Omnibus Theatre
I was, and still am, greatly intrigued by Louise (Heather O’Sullivan) and the themes of control, I saw throughout Lowkey Dying. The play, written and performed by Heather O’Sullivan, is a one-woman show where I was introduced to Louise. A woman who receives her sense of validation from various apps and ‘self-help’ rituals. When leaving The Wedding Speech I was shocked by how much I laughed and how jolly my mood was. After waking up the next morning, I found myself, in contrast, somberly reflecting on certain lines, and the coexistence of maternal love and pain you see so frequently.
