School of Rock Launch at the New London Theatre

September 8, 2016 Last updated: May 5, 2019 11:06 pm By Sarah McPartlan

School of Rock The Musical

School of Rock burst onto London's scene today with their launch at the New London Theatre (Gillian Lynne Theatre). School of Rock in London has some big shoes to fill if it is to live up to its reputation on Broadway with over 1/2 million people having seen it already on Broadway. The show is based on the film, of the same name starring Jack Black with previews beginning on the 24th October 2016. Today we were treated to three songs from the show, 'Teacher's Pet,' 'If Only You would Listen,' … [Read more...]

Review of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change Above The Arts Theatre

July 4, 2015 Last updated: May 13, 2018 8:19 pm By Sarah McPartlan

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change cast: Julie Atherton, Simon Lipkin, Gina Beck and Samuel Holmes

‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,’ is a musical comedy by Jimmy Robers and Joe DiPietro. It is based around a series a short scenes and songs which tell the story of the various stages of a relationship. It is certainly a show many of us can relate to! The … [Read more...]

Review of James Freedman: Man of Steal at Trafalgar Studios

May 29, 2015 Last updated: May 7, 2019 8:28 pm By Sarah McPartlan

Man of Steal

Man of Steal is not your typical West End show as it has no acting; no singing and no dancing, however don’t let this put you off. This is a one man show starring James Freedman and whilst this is not a typical show, James Freedman is a showman in all sense of the word. James Freedman, ‘an honest thief’ sets out to tell you all about the underworld of pickpockets ranging from the ‘traditional’ pickpocket crimes of lifting a wallet out of a pocket to the more modern ways of committing these … [Read more...]

Review of Rumpy Pumpy at the Landor Theatre

April 15, 2015 Last updated: July 5, 2017 1:15 am By Sarah McPartlan

Rumpy Pumpy Musical

Rumpy Pumpy is a new musical based on a true story of 2 WI ladies that set out to legalise prostitution and undertake a search across the world (well Amsterdam, America and New Zealand) to find the perfect brothel, set against the back-drop of 3 working girls, their madam (Holly played by Mandi Symonds) and the policewoman determined to shut them down and send Holly to prison. It has branded itself the female ‘Full Monty’ however this musical fails to live up to this large claim. Prostitution … [Read more...]
