Security
ATG makes the safety and security of its customers and staff a priority. Please bear in mind that staff may undertake bag checks, so recommend you leave extra time to avoid queues, and refrain from bringing suitcases, rucksacks and large bags.
Access Parking – Plan ahead: There is no specific parking for the venue. The nearest car park is Trenchard Street which is located a few roads behind the theatre. It is possible to park on Denmark Street and Gaunts Lane on the double yellow lines if you have a blue badge.
Step Free Access and Wheelchairs
There is no lift at the Bristol Hippodrome
The Access Entrance located on Denmark Street opens approximately 30 minutes before performances begins.
Denmark Street Access Entrance is step free. Once in the auditorium, each row has a step. The theatre recommends the pairs of seats on the ends of Rows F-W on the left-hand side of the auditorium (stage-right), or Row P 31-43 on the left-hand side of the auditorium (stage-right).
There are 4 wheelchair positions, and those listed above are suitable if you wish to transfer to theatre seats.
The Piano Bar is step-free and wheelchair accessible from outside.
The Stalls and Grand Circle has individual fold-down seats with static armrests. The width of these is approx. 40cm. The Upper Circle is cushioned bench seating with low backs. Each space is approx. 42cm wide and there are no armrests. All our Boxes have non-fixed straight-back chairs.
Accessible Toilets – Located at the back of the Piano Bar and at the Access Entrance located on Denmark Street.

Information about our venue’s audio description, touch tours and other visual services can be found on our Visual Impairment Services page. Recommend seats in Rows B and C in the Stalls for customers who require a closer view of the stage. For Audio Described shows you can sit in any area in the auditorium as the Mobile Connect app is used. Touch Tours may also be available to accompany Audio Described performances.
Hearing Impairment Services – Information about our venue’s hearing enhancement systems, signed performances and other hearing services can be found on our Hearing Impairment Services page. Our venue uses the Mobile Connect system. This can be used from anywhere in the auditorium, just download the app on your phone and bring your own headphones. Please read Mobile Connect Instructions. You can use this system throughout the auditorium. For Captioned performances, we recommend seats in Rows B, C, D and E in the Stalls.
Assistance dogs are welcome and can be looked after by the theatre staff during the performance if requested in advance or on arrival. If you would like your dog to stay with you please contact us so we can ensure you have suitable space for your dog.
