West End stars Luke Bayer and Millie O’Connell head the cast of Soho Cinders at Charing Cross Theatre from Thursday 24th October to Saturday 21st December 2019.

Luke was alternate Jamie in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at the Apollo Theatre and Millie in the Olivier Award-nominated reign as Anne Boleyn in the smash-hit musical SIX at the Arts Theatre.

Read our Q&A with Millie O’Connell

Q: Recalling your time in the musical SIX – what are your overriding memories of being a part of the production?
Millie: I have so much love for my girls and the show. I have truly found my sisters! All the events we’ve done together, on TV and live shows, just incredible memories. So much love and gratitude.

Q: Alongside Luke Bayer, you are leading the cast of Soho Cinders – what attracted you most to be a part of the production?
Millie: I adore Luke! This company is just brilliant. When I first read the audition material – which was a few scenes from the show – I just knew I had to be seen for this! I also LOVE that’s it’s an LGTBQ+ musical.

Q: What can you tell us about the character that you play and how they fit into the storyline?
Millie: Velcro is such a real and relatable character. I fell in love with her immediately when I read her lines in my audition. A huge heart, tough love and humour carries her through. I love her.

Q: What is at the heart of Soho Cinders?
Millie: Honestly – the heart of Soho Cinders is LOVE. For me it really is, even sitting and watching our runs, you can just feel the love. And you know I love love!!

Q: Do you have a favourite song and scene from the show?
Millie: I absolutely love ‘Wishing For The Normal’, a beautiful song Luke and I sing together. It’s relatable, real and I will always have a soft spot for this song!

Q: Why should theatregoers get along to see Soho Cinders?
Millie: This journey of a boy in Soho, struggles, happiness, love,  addressing so many things that are currently happening – it really is a beautiful twisted love story of Cinderella. It’s fab! Honestly if you love love – you have to come and watch this!
