The Apollo Theatre was opened one month after Queen Victoria had died in 1901 making it the first West End theatre of the Edwardian age. The auditorium was renovated substantially in 1932. It is suggested that the balcony is the steepest in London so be warned!

My Night with Reg is the story of five gay men living in the 1980s. A mixture of comedy and poignancy, it uses humour to deal with some of the difficult situations homosexual men would deal with at that time, especially within the context of the AIDS epidemic. When I told friends I was going to see ‘Urinetown’, I received one of two reactions. Either, “Really? What a horrible name for a show” from those that hadn’t seen it, or “You’re going to love it!” from those that had. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time to move from Apollo Theatre
Following the ceiling collapse in December that has meant a month of performances being cancelled, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will not be returning to the Apollo Theatre. The producers of the show have advised that the show will now close at the Apollo Theatre and will re-open at The Gielgud Theatre from 24th June and Opening night on 8th July 2014.
