Don’t miss the smash hit stage version of Alan Parker’s world famous musical.
Set in Prohibition era New York, Bugsy Malone sees a child and young adult cast tell the story of a penniless ex-boxer who falls for an aspiring singer in the midst of a gang war between rival gangsters Fat Sam and Dandy Dan.
The stage musical was adapted from the 1976 film of the same name, which starred a young Jodie Foster as Tallulah. Written by Alan Parker, who also directed the original film, the musical features words and music by Paul Williams and includes such classic numbers as ‘Fat Sam’s Grand Slam’, ‘My Name is Tallulah’ and ‘Give a Little Love’.
The first professional production to be staged in London in more than ten years, Sean Holmes’ new production re-opened the Lyric Hammersmith in April 2015 following redevelopment work at the venue and received 5* reviews during its sell-out run.
Speaking about the musical’s return to London next year, Sir Alan Parker said: “I’m delighted that the Lyric are bringing back Bugsy Malone. The 2015 production was beautifully mounted by Sean Holmes and his team and a revelation to me – by far and away the best stage production of it I’ve ever seen.”
Olivier award-winning director Sean Holmes’ critically acclaimed production of Bugsy Malone is back following a sell out run last year.
With electrifying choreography and featuring all the classic songs from Oscar-winning writer Paul Williams including Bad Guys, My Name is Tallulah and So You Wanna Be a Boxer.
