Robin Rayner, David Adkin and TREMers are pleased to announce the cast for their production of Tim Foley’s brave dark comedy The Dogs of War, starring Richard Southgate (Skins, Young Dracula and Borgia). This new play is a volatile look at a group of people battling with the fear of change, isolation and separation.
The production will star Richard Southgate, most famous for his TV roles in Skins (Channel 4) and Young Dracula (CBBC), as well as his starring role in the original West End production of Spring Awakening (Lyric Hammersmith and Novello Theatres). He is joined by Paul Stonehouse (2012 winner of the BBC Radio Norman Beaton Fellowship), Maggie O’Brien (Caucasian Chalk Circle, National Theatre/Complicite) and Melanie McHugh (The Playboy of the Western World, Peer Gynt and Romeo and Juliet, National Theatre; and Pedro The Great Pretender, Tamar’s Revenge and The Dog in the Manger, RSC, Swan Theatre and West End).
The team behind the sold out and critically acclaimed production of The Fastest Clock in the Universe reunite at the Old Red Lion to stage The Dogs of War – a brave new look at the effects of mental illness on a family and questions why there is still such stigma attached to illnesses which are now so common.
