Critically acclaimed Front Foot Theatre presents the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, Proof at The Tabard Theatre.
Catherine has sacrificed her education and social life to care for her brilliant but unstable mathematician father, (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, EastEnders, RSC veteran Tim Hardy). The return of her controlling sister and the flirtations of Hal, (Ian Charleson Nominee Kim Hardy) a former graduate student of her father’s complicate matters when he discovers a ground breaking mathematical proof amongst Robert’s incoherent scribbling. The struggle is on to find out who wrote it. As Catherine confronts Hal’s affections and Claire’s plans for her life, she struggles to solve the most perplexing problem of all: How much of her father’s madness or genius will she inherit?
David Auburn’s compelling script ricochets between the mysteries of mathematics, the elusiveness of love and the fine line between genius and madness
