Due to a gap in their programme and the excitement surrounding the release of a certain film in a certain epic film saga, Theatre N16 have decided to jump on the Millennium Falcon bandwagon and produce a week’s run of rip-roaring comedy and drama surrounding the world’s most ground-breaking money spinning toy franchise ever.
Find out about the people beneath those Stormtrooper helmets, what was going through a certain Gungan’s head on his first day as a senator, and if the cantina band ever played anything different. Free blue milk with every ticket.
The show will feature pieces by Steve Robertson and John Hickman (BBC Writers Room and BAFTA Rockcliffe winner), Andrew Maddock (Playing Fields, Rich Mix; Junkie, Etcetera Theatre), James C Ferguson (Bruschetta 2011, Chicago, OffBroadway Short Play Festival), Victoria Taylor Roberts (2015 Kenneth Branagh Award winner) and Phillip Lawrence (Oh No It Isn’t, Union Theatre; Breaking Legs, Soho Theatre). The run will be overseen by N16’s artistic director Jamie Eastlake, with direction by Will Mytum and Catherine Rees.
Theatre N16 is a trailblazing company founded by young people, for young people. It is London’s newest fringe venue, and is dedicated to creating a creative hub where new and existing works can be explored and pushed into new realms. Theatre N16 is proud of their commitment to the welfare of creatives, operating without a hire fee for external companies. This promoting and nurturing of talent means that Theatre N16 is a bastion for development within the context of a society in which the arts are increasingly struggling to stay afloat.
