A live production of Samuel Beckett’s radio play All That Fall will be presented at Wilton’s Music Hall in spring 2016.
This live performance adaption of Beckett’s one-act radio play, first broadcast in 1957, features a cast of actors moving around a blindfolded audience. It is set to run at Wilton’s Music Hall in London from 22nd March to 9th April 2016, with a press night to be held on 24th March 2016.
Tony Award-winning actress Brid Brennan stars as Maddy Rooney – ‘crotchety and funny, self pitying and self-important, and defiant in her small, strained act of love.’ The cast also includes Killian Burke, Frank Laverty, Gary Lilburn and Ciaran McIntyre.
All That Fall is a play about faltering journeys: An elderly woman’s slow walk to a country station to meet her husband on his birthday, and the people who help and hinder her; Her blind husband’s train ride home – and the strange event that delays it, keeping them apart in more ways than one.
The production was originally created for the Happy Days Enniskillen International Beckett Festival and is presented in London with Out of Joint theatre company. It is directed by Max Stafford-Clark and features a detailed surround sound design by Dyfan Jones.
All That Fall will be shown at Bristol Old Vic from 8th to 12th March 2016, ahead of its London run at Wilton’s Music Hall.
