Robert Page, former record executive with Pye Records has launched an appeal to produce a brand new recording of ‘If We Only Have Love‘ by Jacques Brel – with Special Arrangement by Stefan J Doyle and to be performed by West End musical theatre stars.
The appeal is to raise funds for ChildLine, who, for 30 years have been helping children from across the UK stay safe.
Robert says: “For over 40 years I’ve had this song, waiting for the right opportunity to produce a brand new recording for the right cause. What better cause than ‘ChildLine’ celebrating their 30th year. Now more than ever, the funding they need is falling short due to the massive increase in calls to the ChildLine helpline and in the rise of reported child abuse cases.”
Robert continued: “I started this project 5 years ago, unfortunately ill health deferred the project until now. The song ‘If We Only Have Love’ is a very emotive one and the lyrics perfect, with this in mind, I aim to do it justice and produce the definitive version, world class and unparalleled, using well loved West End performers.”
British journalist, broadcaster and author Alistair Campbell commented: “Good luck to everyone helping Robert in raising funds and awareness for the NSPCC & CHILDLINE, two causes which make an enormous contribution to the welfare of children, denied the kind of life and opportunities that most take for granted.”
