Tickets for LAZARUS at London’s King’s Cross Theatre have this weekend become an even hotter ticket. Most likely due to BBC2’s showing of David Bowie: The Last Five Years – An intimate portrait of the last five years of David Bowie’s life – followed by The Man Who Fell to Earth, a fantasy in which an alien visits Earth in search of water for his dying planet.
Inspired by the book, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Lazarus focuses on Thomas Newton, as he remains still on Earth – a ‘man’ unable to die, his head soaked in cheap gin and haunted by a past love. We follow Newton during the course of a few days where the arrival of another lost soul – might set him finally free.
Reprising their roles from the original New York production are Michael C Hall (Thomas Newton), Michael Esper (Valentine) and Sophia Anne Caruso (Girl).
Produced by Robert Fox and Jones/Tintoretto Entertainment by arrangement with Tristan Baker and Oliver Royds.
