The Royal Court Theatre’s production of a trilogy of Samuel Beckett works performed by Lisa Dwan is to transfer to the Duchess Theatre in 2014.
Not I, Footfalls, and Rockaby, directed by Walter Asmus, will run from 3rd to 15th February, after a run at the Royal Court from 9th to 18th January, where the show is co-produced with Mighty Mouth.
It is reported that tickets at the Duchess Theatre will be sold at Royal Court prices, ranging from £12 to £25.
A UK Tour will follow, showing at the Cambridge Arts Theatre, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and The Lowry in Salford from autumn 2014. There are also international dates which are expected to be confirmed.
Some forty years after the theatre held its UK premiere in 1973, Dwan performed Not I at the Royal Court in May 2013,
The Royal Court Theatre and Mighty Mouth will produce the West End show and tour in association with Cusack Projects.
Vicky Featherstone, artistic director of the Royal Court, is quoted as saying: “When Not I opened at the Royal Court in May, it was an unforgettable and special experience for all who saw it. On announcing that Lisa Dwan would return, this time to perform a trilogy of Beckett’s work, it sold out quickly once again. It is heartening to see there is such a demand for this work.”
The Wind in the Willows is currently showing at the Duchess Theatre until 1st February 2014
