The New York production of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus’ hit musical Mamma Mia!, which currently plays at the Broadhurst Theatre, becomes the ninth longest-running show in Broadway history on 6th March 2014.
That record was previously held by Jonathan Larson’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent.
Now celebrating 13 years on Broadway, Mamma Mia! has been seen by over 50 million people worldwide and has grossed more than $2 billion at the box office.
With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. Mamma Mia! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.
