Clatterhouse Theatre, in association with the Drayton Arms Theatre, present OTHELLO by William Shakespeare.
As London’s lavish “Casino Venice” celebrates a victory over its fierce competition only slick, experienced General (Manager) Othello can hold it all together. With the added celebration of his marriage to new performer Desdemona, nothing could be happier. Enter Iago, a croupier from the Casino floor and Othello’s long term friend; always watching the card counters, always listening in on the poker cheats – he’s got Othello’s back every time. Except when a promotion arises and Othello suggests another croupier, Cassio, for the job; then Iago has Othello’s back for altogether different reasons.
“I follow him to serve my turn upon him… I am not, What I am”
The glitzy and seedy underworld of London’s Casinos is brought to life in this new and exciting interpretation of a Shakespeare Classic.

Clatterhouse Theatre is a young and vibrant fringe theatre company who have been producing dynamic theatre for the last three years. It was established by a group of Cambridge University Graduates and spent its first year under the title NLC (New London Company) where it produced its first season; a repertory run of Shakespeare’s ‘Twelfth Night’ and ‘Othello’ at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre. It then produced a run of ‘Macbeth’ for it’s second season and Anthony Nielson’s ‘The Wonderful World of Dissocia’ for it’s third. As well as producing full runs of well made plays, Clatterhouse Theatre now runs fortnightly workshops in Improvisation; it has taken it’s improvisation troupe ‘Absolutely Improv-able!’ to various fringe venues and will now take up a monthly residency at the Drayton Arms Theatre sharing an evening with other popular comedy acts.
