Josh Jones – Leicester Square Theatre | Review

I saw Josh Jones at the Leicester Square Theatre last night, and it was one of the most enjoyable comedy hours I’ve had in a long while. Josh walks on stage with such natural confidence that within minutes the entire room feels like it’s part of one big, friendly conversation. His camp northern charm is exactly as reviewers have described it: fast-paced, cheeky, and completely disarming.

Most of the show is built around stories from his own life, delivered with a mix of wide-eyed innocence and razor-sharp wit. Whether he’s talking about his obsession with history, the melodrama of modern dating, or the ongoing battle of wills with his cat, there’s a warmth underneath it all that makes the silliness land even harder. What impressed me most was his ability to leap from the ridiculous to something unexpectedly sincere without losing the audience for a moment. A tangent about relationships, for example, drifted into something more thoughtful about identity and self-acceptance, and it gave the hour a surprising depth.

If I had one minor criticism, it would be that a couple of transitions felt a touch loose; he can jump between topics so quickly that you occasionally need a beat to catch up. But truthfully, it barely matters. His energy, timing, and sheer likability carry the show with ease.

Overall, Josh Jones delivers a confident, warm, and very funny performance. It’s the kind of night that leaves you smiling long after you’ve left the theatre.

Review by Ryan Collins

As Josh hits the road once more, this brand-new show is packed full of laughs and he’s keeping it light – nothing super political, nothing controversial and it’s definitely not going to change your life, but you can be sure of a fabulous night out filled to the brim with jokes about history, cats, his love of wrestling and much more.

A TV favourite and now an aspiring doctor’s wife, Josh Jones is now knee deep into his 30s and nothing thrills him more than a Greggs sausage roll and an M&S food shop. Living a more sedate life isn’t without its challenges though – he’s still trying to earn his cat’s respect!
