Built in 1899 as the Theatre Royal and Opera House and refurbished in 1991, it is now operated and managed by ATG.

Established as one of the most successful venues in the country, presenting a wide range of quality drama, record-breaking musicals, opera, dance and family entertainment each year, Richmond welcomes a quarter of a million theatregoers to over 40 outstanding productions annually.

The venue is located in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, and there are several options for using public transportation to get there:

  1. By train: The closest train station to the venue is Richmond Station, which is served by both the London Underground (District line) and National Rail services. From the station, it’s a 10-15 minute walk to the venue.
  2. By bus: There are several bus routes that stop near Richmond Theatre, including the 33, 337, 493, 969, and N22. Check the Transport for London website or app for specific routes and schedules.
  3. By car: If you prefer to drive, there is a car park located just behind the venue on Little Green, but spaces are limited and can fill up quickly. There are also several other car parks located nearby.
  4. By bicycle: If you’re feeling active, you can cycle to the venue and lock your bike up in one of the many bike racks located around the building.
