This Festive season panto magic will be sprinkled in abundance as the Princess Theatre, Torquay welcome a new, multi-award-winning pantomime production company to the venue – with a wealth of experience and a proven track record of delighting audiences across the country.
Jordan Productions will be presenting the classic ‘tale as old as time’, Beauty and the Beast, in true pantomime style, with live music, stunning sets, slick choreography, sensational costumes and of course, plenty of audience participation and panto fun.
The Princess Theatre’s seasonal spectacular promises to end 2023 with magic, music and laughter like you’ve never seen before. A baddie wanting boos, goodies with some gags, a heroine in hot water… But what has happened to the handsome prince? Watch this spectacular adventure as Dame Dotty and son, Potty Pierre, cause chaos at the chateau.
Panto Biography
Michael is delighted to visit Torquay this Christmas, to give his Derrier an airing in “Beauty and the Beast”.
Michael has played many different roles in panto including Dotty Derrier in Beauty and the Beast (Central Theatre Chatham), Widow Twankey in Aladdin and Dame Dolly in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (Lighthouse Theatre Kettering); Mrs. Fridge in Santa Claus and the Return of Jack Frost (Mayflower Theatre Southampton); Squire Squander in Mother Goose (Gatehouse Theatre Stafford); Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk and Herman the Henchman in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (Capitol Theatre Horsham) and Captain Hook in Peter Pan (Theatre Severn Shrewsbury).
West End roles include Dean Martin in The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas (Strand and Savoy Theatres); The Professor in South Pacific (Prince of Wales); The 1988 Royal Command Performance (Victoria Palace); the Policeman and Teacher in Blood Brothers (Phoenix); The Rapist in The Fields of Ambrosia (Aldwych) and understudying and appearing many times as Fagin in Oliver! (London Palladium).
TV and film credits include John Foster Dulles in American Presidency (History Channel); Miles Lucas in Doctors (BBC); Rick Lamb in The Bill (ITV); the Man at the Palais in Lipstick on your Collar (Channel 4); The Brighton Bomber in Michael Winner’s True Crimes (ITV); Nick in Distant Fear (film); The Policeman in Dope Opera (film), Charlie Mills in Goal (BBC/SKY) and Mr. Irving in Grange Hill (BBC).
Michael is a voice over artist for audio books, radio, TV and films, most notably Belfast, Mad about Mambo, ’71, Old New Borrowed Blue, Jason and the Argonauts, Snatch and the Hobbit film, The Battle of the Five Armies.
