Chris McCausland is a blind English comedian, actor, and writer. He was born in Liverpool in 1977, but has lived in Surbiton, near Kingston upon Thames, since 1996. He graduated from Kingston University with a BSc Honours in software engineering, but after a spell as a web developer, deteriorating eyesight prompted a change of direction. He worked in sales for a number of years, during which time he first performed stand-up comedy in 2003.

McCausland’s comedy is observational and self-deprecating, often drawing on his experiences of being blind. He is known for his dry wit and his ability to find humour in everyday situations. He has appeared on a number of TV shows, including Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, and Would I Lie to You?. He also starred in the CBeebies show Me Too! as Rudi.

In 2018, McCausland presented the Radio 4 series You Heard It Here First, a satirical look at the news. He has also written a book, I Can’t See What You’re Laughing At, about his experiences of being a blind comedian.

McCausland is a popular and acclaimed comedian, and his work has been praised for its honesty, humour, and insight. He is a role model for other blind people, and his success shows that there are no limits to what people can achieve, regardless of their disability.
