Writer, actor, comedian, radio and television presenter Paul Merton will be stepping out from behind the iconic Have I Got News For You desk and donning the Panto Dame’s heels at Richmond Theatre this Christmas! He will be joined by comedian Suki Webster as Suki the Sweet Maker, musical theatre performer Wendy Mae Brown as Spirit of the Bells and West End star Vivien Parry as Queen Rat.

Richmond Theatre is pleased to announce further casting for their upcoming pantomime Dick Whittington who will join comedian Paul Merton as Sarah the Cook.
Merton will be joined by his wife and top comedy improviser Suki Webster as Suki the Sweet Maker, musical theatre performer Wendy Mae Brown as Spirit of the Bells and West End star Vivien Parry as Queen Rat.
Paul Merton is a BAFTA-winning writer, actor, comedian and radio and television presenter who is currently a team captain on BBC’s Have I Got News For You. His other television appearances include Whose Line Is It Anyway?, and as the former host of Room 101. He has performed with his group Paul Merton’s Impro Chums at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival every year since 2008. Paul is no stranger to panto, featuring all of four of ITV’s Panto series alongside Julian Clary, and appearing as Window Twankey in Aladdin at the New Wimbledon Theatre in 2018.
Suki Webster most recently starred in two series of Motorhoming with Merton and Webster on Channel 5. As well as having fun in a motorhome, Suki is one of the top comedy improvisers in the UK. She is a founding member of the critically acclaimed Paul Merton’s Impro Chums who have performers 9 sold-out National Tours and 14 sold-out Edinburgh Fringe runs. She is a regular guest with The Comedy Store Players as well as appearing in the West End run of One World Improv co-starring Eddie Izzard. This is Suki’s pantomime debut – oh yes it is!
Wendy Mae Brown is a musical theatre performer who recently played Becky in the UK Tour of Waitress. Her other credits include Martha in White Christmas (UK Tour), Oda Mae Brown in Ghost (West End & Australian tour), The Lorax, and Joanne in Rent (Prince of Wales Theatre).
Vivien Parry was most recently seen as Fraulein Schnieder in the multi-Olivier Award-winning production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. An accomplished actor, Vivien’s other West End credits include Donna in Mamma Mia!, Mrs Johnston in Blood Brothers, Miss Bell in Fame and Anna Regina in The White Witch.
