Comedy superstar John Bishop is getting Back At It – doing what he does best – with a new UK stand-up tour for 2024.
After two years spent TV presenting, stage acting, podcast hosting, dog walking and decorating the spare room, John is getting back to the thing he loves most; standing on stage and making people laugh.
John Marcus Bishop is an English comedian, actor, presenter, and former footballer who is considered one of the most successful stand-up comedians in the UK. He is known for his observational humor, which often focuses on everyday life, family, and relationships. He is also a regular panelist on the Sky1 show “A League of Their Own” and has starred in a number of television shows and films.

Born in Everton, Liverpool, on November 30, 1966, Bishop grew up in a working-class family. He attended St John Bosco RC Primary School and De La Salle College. After leaving school, he worked as a car salesman and then as a teacher before turning to comedy in his late 20s.
Bishop first performed stand-up comedy in 1992. He quickly gained a reputation for his energetic and engaging performances. His first break came in 2003 when he was invited to perform on the BBC show “Live at the Apollo.” This led to him being signed to a record deal and the release of his first stand-up DVD, “Two Foot Steps.”
Bishop’s career has gone from strength to strength ever since. He has released seven more stand-up DVDs, all of which have been certified multi-platinum. He has also sold out numerous arena tours and won numerous awards, including two British Comedy Awards and a National Television Award.
Acting and Presenting
In addition to his stand-up career, Bishop has also enjoyed success as an actor and presenter. He has starred in a number of films, including “Small Town Britain,” “The Watch,” and “The Rocketman” musical. He has also presented a number of television shows, including “John Bishop’s Britain,” “John Bishop’s Christmas Show,” and “The John Bishop Show.”
Bishop is also a successful businessman. He has his own production company, Bishop’s Company, and he has written a number of books. He is also a patron of several charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital.
