Escaping from their cozy home in New York’s Central Park Zoo, Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo embark on an unforeseen adventure that leads them straight into the whimsical world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
Alex, the majestic lion, reigns as the urban jungle’s king and captivates audiences at the Central Park Zoo. Alongside his closest companions, Marty, Melman, and Gloria, he has enjoyed a life of contentment, basking in the adoration of visitors and the comforts of captivity. However, Marty’s inquisitive nature gets the better of him, and with the assistance of some extraordinary penguins, he seizes the opportunity to explore the outside world.
This zany escapade, perfect for the entire family, comes to life through the creative minds of Selladoor Family and Hartshorn – Hook, renowned producers of remarkable theatrical productions such as James And The Giant Peach, Seussical, The Owl And The Pussycat, Rotterdam, Murder Ballad, Urinetown, and American Idiot. The acclaimed Kirk Jameson directs Madagascar – The Musical, accompanied by Fabian Aloise’s captivating choreography. The show boasts imaginative designs by Tom Rogers, mesmerizing lighting by Howard Hudson, enchanting sound by Chris Whybrow, musical supervision by Mark Crossland, delightful puppet design by Max Humphries, and captivating puppet direction by Emma Brunton.
