Description
Based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked imagines a beguiling backstory to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters, and reveals the magic that shaped the destinies of two unlikely friends on their remarkable journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
With music and lyrics by multi-Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, The Prince of Egypt, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and a book by Tony Award-nominee Winnie Holzman, Wicked is currently the 12th longest-running show in West End history, having been seen at the Apollo Victoria Theatre London by over eleven million people.
Two-time Tony-winner Joe Mantello directs with musical staging by Tony-winner Wayne Cilento.
After the continuing success of the Broadway run, two US tours, two UK tours, and countless international productions, the musical Wicked recently celebrated sixteen triumphant years at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. This essential West End musical is embarking on an ambitious tour visiting nine UK cities.
