Step right up! The “Greatest Show on Earth” returns to the stage in a spectacular new production of Cy Coleman’s classic musical, Barnum. Originally produced at the Watermill Theatre, this reimagined tour brings the life of P.T. Barnum to vivid life with a cast of world-class actor-musicians and extraordinary circus acts.

Directed by Jonathan O’Boyle (The Last Five Years) and featuring breath-taking choreography by Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, this production promises a night of wonder, ambition, and showmanship.
A Vibrant Score and Immersive Spectacle Beyond the high-wire acts and theatrical flair, the heart of Barnum lies in its infectious, Tony Award-winning score by Cy Coleman. This 2026 production elevates the musical experience by utilising a multi-talented ensemble of actor-musicians. Rather than a traditional orchestra pit, the music is woven directly into the action, with performers playing instruments live on stage amidst the acrobatics. From the exuberant brass of “Join the Circus” and “Come Follow the Band” to the poignant, lyrical beauty of “The Colours of My Life”, the soundtrack serves as a non-stop rhythmic engine that drives the story of the world’s most ambitious showman.
The Starring Cast: Fans of West End theatre will be delighted to see Lee Mead lead the production as the legendary showman for the first half of the tour (February through July). From August 2026, the role will be reprised by Matt Rawle, who brings his critically acclaimed performance to the autumn leg of the tour.
