The Bush Theatre announce additions to their autumn/winter 2018-2019 season with Artistic Director Madani Younis affirming their commitment to discover, nurture and produce the best new playwrights from the widest range of backgrounds, in a bold season of plays and events.

Madani Younis said, ‘As we announce the culmination of our 2018 and a forthcoming transfer into the West End, the journey and success of ‘Misty’ by Arinzé Kene shows the power of an organisation like ours to feed the city’s cultural ecology and to shape its future landscape. We push the boundaries of new work until they clash head on with the inherent culture all around us – an impetus that’s present across the autumn / winter programme, from ‘An Adventure’, a trans-continental love story that we’ve blown-up to epic proportions, to Dismantle, a radical experiment by this year’s ‘Project 2036’ artists designed to place an uncomfortable spotlight on the power structures of our own industry.

I’m proud that we can shake up cultural offerings whilst still maintaining a great night out for our punters. Expect to be challenged this season at the Bush, but also to be moved, to feel, to laugh and to cry.

One unexpected outcome of our ‘Misty’ transfer is that many of the creatives who will be working on that show will not be available for ‘Going Through’, which was originally programmed for the autumn. We now look forward to welcoming them back into the building with the added bonus of the production stepping into our main house and so increasing the amount of people who can see this ground-breaking show’
