Sprint 2015: a festival of new and unusual theatre – CPT’s annual showcase of new work from the country’s most innovative theatre-makers. Performances this year include an aromatic blend of fact, fiction, tearoom and theatre exploring the controversial death of Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko; a multimedia presentation exploring online identity, stealing and the controversial internet activities of Tory party chairman Grant Shapps; an acclaimed meditation on stereotypes, perceptions and fears regarding the black male.

Brian Logan, artistic director of Camden People’s Theatre, says: “Now in its seventeenth year, Sprint has launched countless careers in trailblazing theatre, and I wouldn’t bet against this year’s programme launching a few more. As ever with our flagship festival, it’s a mouthwatering melange of the established and brand new, of indie-theatre veterans with provocative new projects, and genre-bending artists bringing their first work to the professional stage.”

In election year, it’s no surprise that Sprint harbours several projects grappling with current affairs and the state of the nation. But beyond that we’ve got shows about art and about ice-cream, motherhood and Mary Whitehouse, transhumanism and standup comedy. With multiple shows nightly, and affordable festival passes that turn the whole festival into your personal playground, Sprint 2015 offers a great chance to grapple with all that’s best, brightest and most engaged in contemporary theatre.
