Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical Cats is back in London today as it returns to the West End stage for the Christmas season.
The show is set to run at the London Palladium from 23rd October 2015 to 2nd January 2016. As previously announced Beverley Knight will star as Grizabella, taking over from Kerry Ellis and Nicole Scherzinger who played the iconic role during the production’s previous West End run.
Cats is based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats and features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by T. S. Eliot, with additional lyrics by Trevor Nunn and Richard Stilgoe. The West End production reunites the original creative team of director Trevor Nunn, associate director/choreographer Gillian Lynne and designer John Napier.
