End of Moving Walkway Theatre Company launched

End of Moving WalkwayEnd of Moving Walkway is a new company, formed in April 2014 by five passionate young people who want to ignite a spark in the London fringe theatre scene.

Led by Artistic Director Paul Lichtenstern and Producer Tahmid Chowdhury, the company aims to produce ambitious and exciting productions. Above all they want their audience to leave each performance saying ‘wow!’
The company is also keen to challenge the misconception that fringe theatre is somehow less serious or lower quality than larger scale productions. End of Moving Walkway strive to guarantee professional standard work in everything from the makeup of the set to the printing of the programmes.

The first End of Moving Walkway production opens on Wednesday 3rd September at the Tabard Theatre in Turnham Green. Oh, the Humanity and Other Good Intentions is a 2007 piece by American playwright Will Eno. The play is composed of five short stories (playlets) that each offer a small snapshot of the life of an ordinary person, in a situation where society demands something extraordinary. There’s a football coach who has had a dismal season, an airline spokeswoman trying to apologise to the families of the victims of a crash. It is about the absurdity of life, and its beauty, told through simple, real and engaging stories.
The production criticises the world of celebrity culture, and Hollywood, the world where you have to be perfect, saying instead that it’s our inadequacy itself that makes us beautiful.

End of Moving Walkway’s Fundraising Project
Setting up a new theatre company is not cheap. The production of Oh, the Humanity will cost almost £16,000, and there are numerous extra costs involved with the start-up and continued running of the company, outside the specific production expenditure.

End of Moving Walkway have launched two fundraising campaigns.
On Kickstarter, a crowdfunding website, we’re trying to raise £5000 to cover the overheads of Oh, the Humanity. You can pledge anything from £5 to £500 and will receive different rewards (such as framed certificates, invites to supporters’ events and signed programmes) for different levels of support. Click the link below to view our fundraising video and find out more. We are also inviting high-level supporters to become Founding Patrons of the company, a vital position that comes with bespoke luxury engagement packages. Please contact us if this opportunity is of interest.
