THE WRITERS’ PLAYGROUND brings together some of the best writing talent in the country for one evening, to showcase new British writing and to celebrate the work of the more well-known writers in the industry.

With a West End that is currently filled with American exports and jukebox musicals, Fairground Theatre Company felt that it was time for the London public to celebrate the talent right on their doorstep. They hope that by pooling this talent together, they can raise the profile and popularity of already established writers, as well as providing a platform for newer writers within the industry.

Our exciting line-up of writers features: George Stiles (Mary Poppins/Betty Blue Eyes/Honk!/Just So), Stuart Matthew Price (Before After/Moving On), Robert Gould (My Land’s Shore), Dan Looney (The Confession Room). And also includes: James Robert Ball, Miracle Chance, Rob Eyles, Read-Wilson & Hughes, Claire Rivers, Rob Archibald & Verity Quade

For one night only, the Union Theatre in Southwark will be transformed into a cabaret venue, with live music, talented performers and original material for theatregoers to enjoy. Tickets are now on sale for this exciting event, which is happening on the 7th September at the Union Theatre, Southwark. Doors will open at 19:00 for an 20:00pm

Founded by writer John Kristian and actress Kayleigh McKnight, Fairground Theatre Company is a company dedicated to the development of new musical theatre writing.
