Frances Ruffelle to play Hippdrome Casino

Frances Ruffelle yehFrances Ruffelle is bringing her critically acclaimed solo show ‘I Say Yeh-Yeh’ to the Hippodrome for the first time.

Frances is known for creating the iconic waif ‘Eponine’ in the original cast of Les Miserables, winning numerous awards for her stunning performance including the Tony Award. The show offers a comic insight to Frances’ own true life story from heartbreak to empowerment and brings a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to songs you thought you knew! The show includes a brand new version of On My Own arranged by award-winning Gwyneth Herbert who will also be performing with Frances in this unique evening, with a French twist.

Frances is influenced by Piaf to Tom Waits, Bette Middler to Bridget Bardot… and she will take you from London to New York, and of course, via Paris for one of Playbill’s “unforgettable theatre experiences.”

There are great and strong voices, big or beautiful voices, but very rarely, there is what can only be described as a magic voice. Frances is one of these rare ones, and the magic seems to lie in the contradiction, she is youthful and wise, vibrant and sad, spontaneous and skilled. Hearing is believing.” – Trevor Nunn,
