Dusty, a unique new multi-media show celebrating the musical icon Dusty Springfield, receives its world premiere at the Charing Cross Theatre, London.

With original music by the legendary artist Dusty Springfield, audiences will see and hear Springfield on stage using the most up-to-date 3-D technology and digital media. Combined with a musical theatre format of live performance, music and dance, Dusty follows the highs and lows of Springfield’s rise from middle class suburban London to the recording of her seminal album Dusty in Memphis.

The cast includes: Ellie Ann Lowe (Mary O’Brien), Francesca Jackson (Nancy), Stewart McCheyne (DJ Dave Dean), Ben Tolley (Johnny Franz), Leo Elso (Dion O’Brien/Tom Springfield), Joe Vetch (Douggie Reece), Joan Walker (Kay O’Brien), Graham Kent (Gerard ‘OB’ O’Brien), Tristan Pate (Vic Billings), Allyson Ava Brown (Martha Reeves), Danielle Kassarata (Maddie), Arabella Rodrigo (Norma) and ensemble members Bex Leung, Cleo Jaeger and Marianna Neofitou.

Read our exclusive interview with Ellie Ann Lowe as she answered a few questions about the production.

You are starring in Dusty. What attracted you to the production and the role of Mary O’Brien?
I love Dusty’s music and when I heard the rumours about a show, I called my agent and she booked the audition…

What can you tell us about the audition process?
I was asked to bring in a Sixties pop song to sing and I chose Debbie Boone’s You Light Up My Life. I also had to prepare a contemporary monologue. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable experience and I was made to feel very welcome.

What can you tell us about rehearsals?
It’s really exciting to see how media and theatre can merge and work together. We are now really looking forward to our first performance tonight (Friday 29th May).

Which are your favourite Dusty Springfield Songs?
I have two – I Close My Eyes and Count To Ten.

Can you tell us about the show?
It’s a new concept – a multi-media musical with live music and performance. And Dusty comes to life as a 3D projection! The story is told through the eyes of Nancy Jones, a childhood friend, and the other figures, like her manager and band, who accompanied Dusty on her journey.

Why should everyone get along to see Dusty?
She has great story, her music is incredible and, when you see the show, you can understand why she became a global success and an inspiration to so many other artists.
