News from Caroline Friedman at Scenesaver. “We want to share the news with you about the launch of Scenesaver – a free to use, website that is a ‘netflix for performances’ in offwestend, offbroadway and fringe theatres worldwide.”
“Scenesaver is a one-stop site where you can see all types of performances; drama, comedy dance, theatre for children, musicals and puppetry from small theatres all over the world. It’s free to view the shows but we ask that users pay a “ticket price” and this money goes to the performers.
It is free for creatives to share footage of their work, to be discovered by new audiences and earn some money. We are also the host site for the OnComms, awards given for performances presented online during lockdown.
Scenesaver was conceived before the pandemic but when the theatres closed we decided to launch the site as an opportunity for theatre lovers to keep seeing performances and to support small theatre. We are a small start-up that believes passionately in making little theatre big.”
