Miss Saigon’s Hugh Maynard to mentor aspiring young actors

Hugh MaynardHugh Maynard who plays the role of John in Miss Saigon will be mentoring a group of young actors singing Bui Doi for the West End Week Master Class Show at the Playhouse Theatre at 1.30pm Friday 8th August 2014.

Melissa Jacques from Wickedand Patron Lee Mead star of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat from BBC’s Any Dream Will Do will also be performing.

Hugh Maynard says: ‘It is a great pleasure to mentor these aspiring youngsters and share with them the experience of singing and performing on a West End stage.

West End Week is a 5-day musical theatre summer project providing youngsters with a passion for the performing arts the opportunity to take part in master classes and workshops led by West End performers and industry professionals. The climax to the week is an opportunity to share their work in a special performance on a West End Stage at the Playhouse Theatre, London. This year around 150 young people between the ages of 6 -21 will be taking part.

When not acting, singing or recording Hugh Maynard can be found supporting his chosen charity Action for Children. Hugh also delivers the key-note address at conferences for professionals who work with young people who are in care.
