If you’re a theatre fan – and by reading this, I’m assuming you are – then what are you going to do to see in 2012? New years are all about starting as you mean to go on and, if you have a love of theatre, you’re probably going to want to mark the occasion with some form of theatrical celebration. Perhaps you’ve drawn up a list of shows to see in 2012? Perhaps you’ve put in a bulk order for all the cast recordings and solo albums (from MT performers) that you didn’t find in the bottom of the … [Read more...]

Wrapping up 2011
The year of 2011 has reached its end. Now it’s disappeared into the ether of the past and will, from here on in, forever be relegated to the store-room of the world, alongside all the other years which have been and gone. As we pack 2011 into that big cardboard box though, we make sure all the loose ends are tied up so we can wrap it all with a big pretty bow: in the theatre world, that means end-of-year round-ups. So many critics, bloggers and theatre sites have gone down this route and I … [Read more...]
2011 London West End Theatre Review
As 2011 comes to a close may I indulge in sharing what we have been up to during the past twelve months. First and foremost we make our living from selling theatre tickets and 2011 has resulted in ticket sales in excess of £1.6 million, which has filled quite a few seats in theatres primarily across the West End. Our London theatre APP has proved to be a popular success on both the Apple iSeries, and also on the Android mobile phones. I am always looking to improve the APP and we will be … [Read more...]

The lengths we go to for the things we want
After all the weeks of planning and present-buying and feelings swinging from excitement to anxiousness to, inevitably, frustration, Christmas Day came and went in a flash. It’s the same every year. One day just doesn’t seem enough to do justice to all that build-up, so we tend to drag it out for as long as possible – Boxing Day, Christmas sales shopping, second Christmas’ with other friends or family... It has to end some time though. Mine ended yesterday as I prepared to leave Lincolnshire … [Read more...]
It’s panto season again! “Oh no it isn’t…” “Oh yes it is!”
I do love a good night at the theatre. Everything about the theatre-going experience is something to be enjoyed and remembered, from taking that first step into those sumptuous surroundings to – well, every moment of what happens on the stage. I’ve been to see a wide range of productions, such as comedies, dramas and jukebox musicals – what makes theatre so special is that each and every production you go to see, be it a play or a musical and regardless of its content, will leave you with a … [Read more...]
War Horse: The Third Edition
When I was in primary school (a good few years ago now, but not that long ago) we went on a school trip to Devon where we learned all about agriculture life at Nevercott Farm. While mixing pig swill, scooping up cow pats and getting myself stuck in the mud were all memorable experiences (in their own way), one memory of that time which I do cherish was meeting author Michael Morpurgo. Sitting around a roaring fire whilst one of this country’s most celebrated writers of children’s fiction reads … [Read more...]
