Broadway and West End smash-hit musical Million Dollar Quartet, which features some of the most iconic rock ‘n’ roll songs of all time, comes to the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch from 25 – 30 September, 2017.

Million Dollar Quartet presents a score of more than 20 classic rock ‘n’ roll hits including Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, I Walk The Line and Great Balls of Fire.

Audiences will be transported to 4 December 1956, one of the most famous dates in music history. It’s the night that rock ’n’ roll pioneers Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins jammed together in Sun Records Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. This rock ‘n’ roll musical stars former Blue Peter Presenter Peter Duncan as legendary record producer Sam Phillips – the man who brought the four recording stars together for the first and only time to create music history.

Peter Duncan is an Olivier Award nominated actor who first came to the nation’s attention as a presenter on the iconic television show Blue Peter. Peter began his career on stage with Laurence Olivier’s National Theatre company at the Old Vic and subsequently went on to be Olivier Award nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in The Card and starred as Barnum in Barnum. Peter has also created original pantomimes at Hackney Empire and Broadway Theatre as well as writing and directing Oxford Playhouse’s annual Christmas production. As well as his illustrious career on stage, Peter has had roles on television in Demolition Dad, Doctors and fronted the BBC series Duncan Dares.

Joining Peter Duncan (Sam Philips) will be Rhys Whitfield (Elvis Presley), Martin Kaye (Jerry Lee Lewis), Robbie Durham (Johnny Cash) and Matt Wycliffe (Carl Perkins).

Million Dollar Quartet is written by Tony Award nominees Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux and produced by Simon Friend, Mark Goucher, Tom O’Connell, Laurence Myers and Gavin Kalin. The musical is directed by Olivier nominated Ian Talbot OBE, renowned for his tenure as both Artistic and Managing Director at The Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park.

Don’t miss this chance to be a fly on the wall at one of the most famous recording sessions, and relive the story of how four stars made rock ‘n’ roll history!

Million Dollar Quartet runs at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch from 25 – 30 September. Tickets are £18.50 – £30 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 01708 443333, in person at the theatre or online at queens-theatre.co.uk.
