The Peculiar Tale of Pablo Picasso and the Mona Lisa

Fourth MonkeyFourth Monkey presents The Peculiar Tale of Pablo Picasso and The Mona Lisa by Steven Green. “Good artists copy, great artists steal” Pablo Picasso

Paris 1911.  A struggling Spanish artist called Pablo Picasso is arrested on suspicion of stealing the Mona Lisa from the Louvre. Overnight, he is propelled from anonymity to notoriety, but his incarceration comes with unexpected benefits.

Fresh from the 2013 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, this fast-moving farce was a hit with audiences and critics alike. Loosely based on real events and peppered with characters such as Guillaume Apollinaire, Gertrude Stein and George Braques, it takes a light-hearted look at the louche life of a young artist about town and the unpredictable ways in which inspiration can strike.

Cast: Sherwood Alexander, Euan Forsyth, James John Bryant, Cameron Moore, Lucia Young, Daisy Adams, Katherine Moore, Amy McGinley, Maui Piekarczyk, Ella Dunlop.
