Hugh Maynard who plays the role of John in Miss Saigon will be singing Bui Doi the popular song from the Cameron Mackintosh’s hit revival.

Other stars performing include Summer Strallen (The Sound of Music, Top Hat), Anton du Beke (Strictly Come Dancing), Dianne Pilkington (Mamma Mia!, Wicked) Rachelle Ann Go (Miss Saigon and Filipino pop star), Daniel Buckley (The Book of Mormon, Loserville), Charlotte Riby (Billy Elliot, Hairspray), Alicia Beck (Cats, Zurich Ballet), Tyrone Huntley (The Book of Mormon, Memphis), Harry Francis (A Chorus Line, Edward Scissorhands), Lady Imelda (Glam Jam) and vintage trio The Dolly Girls and cast members from Miss Saigon. by Katy Osborne and Harry Francis for Francis Hume Productions.

Hugh Maynard says: “It is a great honour to sing this special song Bui Doi on a different stage to help raise funds for these children. Having been abandoned by my mother at a few weeks old and experienced living in residential care and foster homes until 8 years old I have some idea of what these children in the Philippines are going through”

Hugh turned his early disadvantages in life into a successful career as an actor/singer to starring in the current hit revival of Miss Saigon. Cameron Mackintosh commented that ‘Hugh is absolutely one of the best people who ever played this role.

When not acting, singing or recording Hugh can be found lecturing to care professionals on youngsters in care and mentoring children in workshops for Action for Children and with St Francis School, a specialist provision for disabled children.
