Woking’s much-loved entertainment venues have entered an exciting new chapter, with The Ambassadors reintroduced as Woking Theatres & Cinema from Friday 17 April 2026.
This bold new identity brings the town’s theatre and cinema offering together under one clear and unified name, marking one of the most significant developments in Woking’s cultural landscape in over three decades. As part of this transformation, the New Victoria Theatre — a cornerstone of Woking’s cultural life since opening in 1992 and ATG Entertainment’s first acquired venue — has been renamed Woking Theatre, reflecting its strong connection to the town and the community it proudly serves. The Rhoda McGaw Theatre and Nova Cinema retain their existing names, continuing to deliver the same diverse, high-quality experiences audiences know and value.
VENUE ACCESS INFORMATION
There are nine wheelchair spaces in the back row of the Royal Circle and one wheelchair space in the Stalls. It is advisable to book wheelchair spaces in advance. There is level access to the Box Office, bars, toilets and back row of the Royal Circle. There is lift access to the stalls. The Upper Circle is only accessible via stairs.
The Woking Theatre auditorium is equipped with a Sennheiser MobileConnect WiFi sound amplification system. MobileConnect uses WiFi to deliver superior quality audio to a smart device such as an iPod or iPhone, either through headphones or via a necklace for hearing aid users. Devices can be booked via the box office in advance, alternatively, patrons can download the Sennheiser MobileConnect app and use their own device.
Woking Theatre is a member of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme. We support anyone with hidden disabilities or who may require more support and assistance during their visit to the theatre. Sunflower Lanyards may be collected from our Box Office free of charge.
