The producers of Burlesque the Musical, inspired by the iconic Golden Globe-nominated film starring Christina Aguilera and Cher, are thrilled to announce its highly anticipated West End premiere. Following record-breaking previews with over 120,000 tickets sold, audiences have declared it the most exciting movie musical to hit the stage in decades.
Burlesque the Musical will dazzle audiences at the Savoy Theatre on The Strand, beginning performances on Thursday 10 July 2025, with a limited run until Saturday 6 September 2025. The glittering Gala Night is set for Tuesday 22 July at 7:00 pm. Burlesque the Musical tickets go on general sale at 10:00 am on Wednesday 26 March 2025.
Fresh from its sold-out triumphs in Manchester and Glasgow, the musical waltzes into the West End, promising a larger-than-life theatrical spectacle. Audiences will be transported to a club like no other – a hidden gem beneath the city lights where sequins sparkle, seduction shimmers, and a life can change with the flick of a feather boa.
The musical, written and produced by Steven Antin with additional material by Kate Wetherhead, is a scintillating journey of self-discovery. It sizzles with hit songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, and Diane Warren, alongside brand-new music by Todrick Hall and Jess Folley.
Christina Aguilera, Executive Producer of Burlesque the Musical and star of the original film, expressed her excitement:
“I’m proud that Burlesque the Musical is coming to London’s West End! Bringing the world of Burlesque from the screen to the stage has been such a special and thrilling journey. After our successful previews, seeing the show take its place in the heart of London is a dream come true!”
At the heart of Burlesque, the Musical is the story of Ali, a young woman who travels to New York City in search of her mother. Instead, she finds herself drawn into an electrifying underground world where the rhythm of the music and the passion of the dance floor change her life forever. Along the way, Ali discovers her extraordinary voice and an unexpected family of misfits, dreamers, and schemers.
Produced by Adam Paulden & Jason Haigh-Ellery, Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky, Steven Antin & Christina Aguilera, and Clint Culpepper, the show delivers a bold, glamorous, and emotionally charged experience that reminds us all:
Life isn’t fair… It’s fabulous!
