Between The Sheets at the The Spiegeltent – Review

Between The SheetsBetween the Sheets, marketed as the “Sexiest Show of the Summer” is playing selected dates through the summer months in the Spiegeltent in London’s Wonderground.

The show runs at 75 minutes and is an intimate cabaret starring Miss Polly Rae (Best Burlesque, London Cabaret Awards 2015). The show secretes an exuberant medley of burlesque song, dance, fire eating and comedy – a must for anyone who is a feeling a little bit horny! Oh and there is a bar there as well as the opportunity to purchase yourself some bespoke Nipple Tassles.

The show is not all about sex, mostly, but not all, it explores love and the tenderness as well, from the comedy of sex, namely fanny farts as well as the tenderness of touch!

The show is a full-on exploration of sexuality be that self-love, heterosexual coupling, gay and lesbian love or group sex and orgies. We witness game play, horsing around, whips, ropes, dominatrix and a beautiful contemporary dance performance that melts your heart. This show has something for everyone regardless of sexuality, fetish or desire. They even have two very talented male performers, Tom Cunningham and Myles Brown who perform some brilliant boylesque as well as really touching piece of contemporary dance.

Visually stunning, with a soundtrack to get your heart pumping, your feet tapping and juices running the show has been carefully put together to bring the best of the London Cabaret and Burlesque scene together in a tent!

The piece is an ensemble production emcee’d by the enchanting and delectable Miss Polly Rae; a vision of red erotica as she leads and teases those watching through the show, enticing ‘oohs’, ‘ahhhs’ and screams of delight from the audience.

Miss Polly Rae is her usual seductive self – robed in erotic lingerie, her singing voice is superb and dance routines on point! The way she directs the show teasing and tantalising her audience as she introduces a number of very skilled performers from the cabaret circuit is pure perfection.

This lady is very skilled and entertains us with her clothes on and off!

Alongside Miss Polly Rae, we are treated to explosive performances by the creator of mayhem herself, Miss Kitty Bang Bang, who delivers some fabulous routines – it’s hard to take your eyes off her when she is on stage. Whether she is flaunting herself around in an oversized champagne glass, eating fire or masterfully using her whip this lady is phenomenal – a force to be reckoned with in the burlesque world. We are also treated to the fabulous comic timing of British Passport Seeking Lilly Snatchdragon and the hilarious Friski Mivaj (also known as Laura Corcoran). Finally I must mention the astonishing aerialist Hugo Desmarais who gave a captivating spinning routine where I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, his speed and poise were of another level.

All in all, this is a great night out if you’re feeling horny, take your date, your partner, your f*ck buddy or a group of pals, you’ll laugh and hear your self-shouting “yes yes yes” at the top of your voice before you even see some naked flesh!

Welcome to Miss Polly Rae’s boudoir. Celebrating all things ‘in the bedroom’ ‘Between The Sheets’ is a visually stunning, hilarious and risqué romp, bursting with a dynamite mix of song, dance, comedy, circus and glorious innuendo that not only encapsulates traditional burlesque but also explores the darker more erotic side of striptease.
