Equity & The Actors Centre – New Partnership Agreement Signed!

The Actors Centre and Equity sign new expansive Partnership Deal. The Actors Centre and Equity have signed a new partnership agreement, reaffirming their close relationship and joint dedication to supporting actors throughout their careers.

The Actors Centre, who enter their 40th year this September, will work closely with Equity over the coming years on several initiatives aimed at ensuring that actors are empowered and supported, with a particular focus on mental health, self-development and equality.

Malcolm Sinclair, outgoing president of Equity, said: ‘Equity is delighted to be entering into a new agreement and consolidating our relationship with the Actors Centre. The union and our members were instrumental in the founding of the Centre and the need for the provision of high-quality professional development for actors has never been greater.’

Joel Fisher, Creative Producer of the Actors Centre, added: ‘It has been great to work closely with Equity’s brilliant staff and Council to come up with an agreement that reflects the strength of our relationship and the synergy between our goals. We are really looking forward to rolling out some vital initiatives in the coming years.

This agreement comes at the same time that the Actors Centre and Equity have announced that they will be hosting monthly drop-in well-being sessions so actors can discuss bullying, harassment and mental health concerns one-on-one with a trained professional.
