Explore Buckingham Palace Garden with unprecedented freedom this summer and discover for yourself for the very first time its sights before enjoying a unique once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to picnic* with views of the Palace. You will be free to wander around the garden’s winding paths at your own pace and experience the beauty and calm of this walled oasis in central London. Among the many features to discover are the 156-metre Herbaceous Border, the Horse Chestnut Avenue, the Plane tree planted by the Queen and Prince Albert, and the famous lake with its island that is home to the Buckingham Place bees.

Included in the cost of your ticket is an all-day hop-on, hop off City Cruises Thames River Pass offering you unlimited access to the river for 24 hours where you can board at anyone of the following Piers:
Westminster Pier
London Eye Pier
Tower Pier

*Visitors will be able to purchase delicious refreshments in the Garden during their visit this summer, should they not wish to bring their own. These will include sandwiches, cakes, ice cream, hot and cold drinks.

Picnic items permitted:
– Food and non-alcoholic drinks
– Plastic glasses and paper cups
– Tableware and cutlery
– Small picnic baskets and cool bags
– Blankets and small foldable chairs
– Personal and golfing-sized umbrellas
– All items must be no larger than 55 x 35cm in order to pass through airport-style security scanners.

Non-Permitted picnic items:
– Alcohol consumption
– Glassware
– Sharp-bladed knives
– Radio/speaker
– Barbecues
– Parasols, windbreakers and gazebos
– Ball games or similar
– Toilets and baby-care facilities are available.
– Pushchairs are encouraged for young children.
– Animals, other than guide, hearing or assistance animals, will not be admitted to the Palace or Garden.

River Cruise Ticket is valid for the day of entry into Buckingham Palace Gardens

As the official residences of The Queen are working royal palaces, opening arrangements may change at short notice.

City Cruises:
You should arrive at least 15 minutes before departure time.
Passenger numbers are difficult to predict each day and can vary on account of public holidays, weather conditions events, etc. City Cruises cannot guarantee that you will get the sightseeing sailing that you have booked – please ensure that you arrive in reasonable time.
All boats have seating and are fully heated
All boats offer open space areas with great views. Many have open decks offering an elevated view.
No bikes are allowed on board
