UK Tour of Duet For One production photographs

Duet For OneDUET FOR ONE centres on the relationship between Stephanie Abrahams, a brilliant concert violinist who seemingly has it all, and her psychiatrist Dr Feldmann. Based on the life of world-renowned musician Jacqueline Du Pré, DUET FOR ONE premiered at the Bush Theatre in 1980 with Frances De La Tour and David de Keyser and had great success in subsequent West End and Broadway runs, including a major revival in 2009 starring Juliet Stephenson and Henry Goodman. The film adaptation of DUET FOR ONE, released in 1986, saw Julie Andrews nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress.

The UK tour is directed by the award-winning Robin Lefevre, designed by Lez Brotherston and produced by Lee Dean and Daniel Schumann, in association with Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Originally produced at the Almeida and following an acclaimed run in London’s West End, this UK tour of Tom Kempinski’s multi award-winning play Duet for One tours the UK.

In this powerful and deeply moving play Stephanie Abrahams (Belinda Lang), a brilliant concert violinist who seemingly has it all, is forced to re-evaluate her life when struck down by an unforeseen tragedy.

Faced with a truth too difficult to comprehend she consults psychiatrist Dr Feldmann (Oliver Cotton) and through a series of highly charged encounters is led to examine her deepest emotions and finally to consider a future without music.
