World Premiere of SHELTERED at The Tabard Theatre

Sheltered at the Tabard Thetare PosterAgainst the Grain Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of SHELTERED by Greg A Smith and Directed by Stuart Watson.

A dark satire about the homeless and the heartless, packed with action, thrills and laughs for the festive season.

Welcome to the home that looks forward to a good fight at Christmas

London: Christmas Day. Middle class couple Harry and Tamsin invite young homeless man Rory into their home to share Christmas with them and their daughter, Jenna. Presents are opened; parlour games played; parsnips and sprouts prepared.

It soon becomes obvious that Rory is no typical rough sleeper, however. And when Harry’s arch-nemesis Donald and his wife Marissa arrive accompanied by their own homeless guest, what initially appeared to be an act of faintly patronising charity reveals itself as something much less festive, but much more exciting – and dangerous. No-one present will escape unscathed and unchanged from the ultimate disastrous family Christmas.

Against the Grain Theatre Company produce new work looking at the most controversial issues of the day in a dark humorous light.

The aim is to create exhilarating, visceral theatre to entertain and provoke.

Sheltered is Against the Grain Theatre Company’s second production. Their first production, the European premiere of Steven Fechter’s The Woodsman was performed at the Old Red Lion Theatre, London 7 April – 2 May 2009 and was also directed by Stuart Watson.
